SMS Spy iconSMS Spy is a simple background service that helps to locate your Android device via SMS. Just send an SMS with EXACTLY the text ‘How are you???’ to your device, your device responds with GPS data, address and a map link .

Keep in mind there will be no icon on your desktop or anything to start or open, because it’s a simple background service, that always runs (after installation) and that needs no configuration (except you want to hide the incoming SMS on the located device).

The located Android mobile usally sees your ‘How are you???’ SMS and a notification. If you don’t want that the located mobile sees your location SMS you have to add a new contact onto the Android mobile which shall be located. Name the surname ‘systemnumber’, leave the rest empty and give it the number of this handset. Done the received ‘How are you?’ SMS will be deleted and a system notification will be shown instead with the text ‘Internal Service – SMS Database optimized and compressed’ and shows of the own number of the device. No hint points to the locator anylonger. This is a kind of workaround, because today it is not possible to delete notifications, only to overlay them with new ones.

Location will be either by GPS or network (if GPS is disabled).
